WPF Beta2 Release Imminent?

It’s been almost 3 months since the release of the most recent WPF CTP in late February. It is widely anticipated that a new Vista build, Windows SDK, and accompanying WinFx version will be released next week (week commencing 22-May-2006) to coincide with the WinHEC. The Expression Interactive Designer team has previously indicated they hope to release the next CTP of their application soon after WPF Beta2 hits the streets.

We’ve already seen some examples of some of the changes to expect in the next release including the ability to specify a z-Index (like z-order?) for elements, the ability to use Vista glass effects and some small changes to the default project templates. Hopefully Beta2 will include a go-live license for people eager to start using WPF in real applications. The WPF SDK team have already given us a preview of some of the improved documentation we can expect.
